School District Website Accessibility Statement
East Moriches Union Free School District is dedicated to ensuring that the
information on the school district's
website is accessible to all staff, students, parents/guardians, family
and members of our community with disabilities.
The school district website provides information using Twitter, Google Calendar, Google Translate and Microsoft Sharepoint,
which are accessible from a wide variety of mobile devices and personal computers.
The school district website homepage features an embedded view of the @EastMorichesSD Twitter feed to provide
real-time news and updates. It includes annotated picture content of school events
and students learning inside the classroom. It is also accessible from the Twitter app on mobile devices by following @EastMorichesSD
and on desktop computers at twitter.com/EastMorichesSD
To keep track of upcoming school district events we use the interactive Google Calendar app.
The Google calendar agenda view is embedded on school district website homepage and there is a link to a
full month by month view of events. The calendar is also available for download on the Calendar page
in PDF format.
It is also possible to subscribe to the school calendar to receive notifications of upcoming events
by using the Google Calendar app, or using the open source
format with other calendar software.
Each page of the school district website includes
Google Translate to allow readers to make text available in any language.
All school documents, ranging from lunch menus to Board of Education records, are made available on the
public EMO Sharepoint website.
Sharepoint allows anyone to access these documents without needing a Microsoft account. There are
multiple links to Sharepoint on the school district website for Parent/Student Files
Board of Education FIles
and Lunch Menus
The Sharepoint website supports multiple device platforms and allows you to obtain previews of documents, such as PDFs, before you download them.
If the format of any material on the school district website
interferes with your ability to access information and you require an accommodation, or if you would like to submit feedback
concerning the accessibility of any materials,
please send us an e-mail to email@example.com.
To enable us to
respond in a manner most helpful to you, please indicate the nature of your accessibility
problem, the preferred format in which to receive the material (such as in PDF format or in large print), the web address (URL) of the
requested material, and your contact information and we will be happy to provide you with assistance.
