The East Moriches Union Free School District remains dedicated to fostering a high-quality learning environment that supports the success and well-being of all students. The proposed Capital Project, which will be decided in the May 20 vote, represents a strategic investment in the district’s infrastructure to enhance safety, efficiency, and educational excellence.
This proposition (listed as Proposition 4 on the primary ballot in May) includes:
- Replacing the two elementary boilers
- Renovating two middle school bathrooms
- Replacing hallway and classroom ceilings and lighting at the middle school
- Asbestos removal at the middle school
- TOTAL Project Cost $2.2 million coming out of available fund balance; not asking for additional funds from the community
These upgrades are designed to create modern, functional spaces that support school operations.
A key aspect of this project is that it will be funded through the district’s available resources, ensuring that these necessary improvements are made without requiring additional taxes. This financial approach reflects the district’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing school facilities while being mindful of the community’s economic considerations.
The success of this initiative will further demonstrate the East Moriches community’s dedication to investing in its schools and ensuring that students have access to a safe, supportive, and enriching educational experience. As the project progresses, the district is committed to keeping stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the process.
Together, East Moriches continues to build a strong foundation for academic achievement, community pride, and the future success of all students.
